Butter knife at Florentine Kitchen Knives 2023 Fri Jul 19 2022

This project was a collaboration with my colleague, Karen Darnell, during our internship at Florentine Kitchen Knives, a studio based in Barcelona that specializes in the production of uniquely styled kitchen knives.

Our assignment for this project was to use the workshop's leftover materials to make a butter knife. We transformed unused blades by rounding them off and utilized leftover epoxy resin and colored powder, which would have otherwise been discarded after the CNC process used in manufacturing knife handles in our studio.

The process involved conducting comprehensive research and developing a detailed work methodology to achieve a high-quality final product. This included preparing the casting, injecting specific quantities into the mold, heating the blades for insertion, employing techniques to prevent bubbles in the casting, and more.

The final products was a

additional vibrant color.
